Service Above Self Award

Service Above Self Award

Each Year, a Grove City retired or deceased resident who brought honor and recognition to our community is selected for our Service Above Self Award, with a plaque installed in our Grove City Town Center. Its purpose is to honor the Life’s Work of a Grove City resident who has contributed greatly to our city, state, or nation through Service Above Self.

The Honoree has a bronze plaque dedicated in his/her honor with their picture bust and definition of their life work. Applications are made each year on the Grove City Rotary website, social media, and the Grove City library. The nominee must have lived in Grove City, retired from their primary career, over the age of 65-years old, not holding a political or elected office, or deceased (a terminal illness late in a person’s career would gain special consideration). The nominee must meet one or more of the following requirements:

Be outstanding in “Service Above Self” in: Education, Fighting Disease, Local Community, Saving Mothers and Children, Environmental, or Promoting Peace.
